ZUGFeRD XML
The German Electronic Invoice Forum (FeRD) has developed a standardized, cross-industry XML format for electronic invoices that is intended to be used for the exchange of invoices between companies, authorities and consumers. This allows for the exchange of structured data between the invoice issuer and the invoice recipient and is intended to be used both nationally and internationally.
This format is known today as ZUGFeRD XML or ZUGFeRD invoice.
Since the introduction of version 2.0, this is also referred to as Factur-X and is widely used internationally under this name.
The ZUGFeRD or Factur-X format is used exclusively for electronic invoice exchange. A ZUGFeRD invoice consists of the visual representation of the invoice (= PDF) for humans and machine-readable structured data (= ZUGFeRD-XML).

In AbaNinja, a ZUGFeRD XML and a Factur-X are automatically created for each invoice and credit note and attached to the PDF as an attachment as soon as the document is sent or printed.
