Manual journal entries
In AbaNinja, most journal entries are automatically created. However, there may be situations in business operations where you need to manually record a journal entry. This is especially necessary when special business transactions occur that are not covered by automated accounting.
You can record manual journal entries under "Accounting > Bank Statement".
Benefits
- You maintain full control over your accounting and can accurately represent unusual business transactions.
- The ability to attach receipts directly makes for transparency and facilitates collaboration with your trustee or auditor.
How to proceed
- Under "Accounting > Bank Statement" in the desired account, the following fields must be filled out:
- Date of value
- Counterparty
- Amount (debit/credit)
- Tax rate (if applicable)
- Journal text (for better traceability)
- Reference (if applicable)
- Using the paperclip, you can add a document (e.g. receipt, invoice) as an attachment to the journal entry. This makes later control easier and ensures complete documentation.
- Complete the entry by clicking "Post".
Tips
- Always use the "Post Entry" function when connected to Abacus to ensure seamless transfer.
- Always add a receipt as an attachment to avoid questions.
