In the settings > chart of accounts, you can manage and customize the chart of accounts for your accounting in AbaNinja. When opening an account with Switzerland, a chart of accounts is automatically created based on the official Swiss SME chart of accounts framework. This subset includes the 126 most important and most used accounts for small and medium-sized enterprises. For Germany, the chart of accounts SKR 03 or SKR 04 are available.

Additional accounts:
If you need additional accounts, you can only activate them if you have a paid subscription or an active connection to an Abacus financial accounting (AMID). After activating these prerequisites, you can add more accounts from the SME chart of accounts in the settings under chart of accounts > account. Additionally, so-called reserve accounts are available, which are marked with "Reserve" and can be used individually.
Please note:

• It is not possible to record accounts outside the available SME chart of accounts. Individual or advanced accounts that are not included in the framework cannot be created.

Favorites:
You can mark frequently used accounting accounts with a star as favorites. These favorites are displayed preferentially in various masks, such as when importing supplier invoices or customer invoices, in the account statement or in the journal. This makes selection easier and speeds up the booking processes significantly.

Tips and hints

• Check before the first booking whether all necessary accounts are activated, as changes to the chart of accounts after the first booking in the business year are only possible to a limited extent.
• Use the favorites function specifically to simplify the work for you and your team.
