Evaluation of flextime

How is the overtime balance calculated?

The overtime balance is calculated through in and out bookings and can also be supplemented by services that are recorded as time bookings.

Clearing the overtime balance

If the employee's overtime balance is not displayed correctly, there are some measures that can be taken to clear it.

The following steps can be taken to correct the overtime balance

  1. Set the time recording start date
  2. Check and clean up employment relationships
  3. Close the previous year
  4. Record correction bookings
  5. Check performance types

1. The time recording start date must be set for the employees.

The date is recorded when the employees actually started recording their time.

2. The employment relationships must be checked and, if necessary, corrected.

It is possible that there are several entries that overlap or do not make sense.

These entries must be revised or removed so that only correct entries remain for an exact calculation. If no employment relationship has been recorded yet, it must be recorded.

If an employment relationship cannot be deleted, the following workaround can be applied:

  • Make a closing with the current status
  • Immediately delete this closing

Now the entries of the employment relationship should be able to be deleted.

3. The times already recorded from the previous year should be closed.

This also triggers the transfer of holidays, which can be seen under details.

4. Individual adjustments to the overtime balance or also to the holiday balance can be made with correction bookings.

5. A look at the performance types would be recommended to ensure that they have been recorded correctly with regard to the settings Is counted as working time and Is counted as holiday time. These settings can be found under Settings > Time Recording > Performance Types. With a click on the desired performance type, the corresponding selection for editing is opened.
