Document trail

You can find the so-called document trail on every customer document (e.g. quote, order, delivery note, invoice). This shows you clearly how the individual documents are related to each other. You can see at a glance which original document (e.g. a quote) a follow-up document (such as an order, delivery note or invoice) was created from. You can also see if, for example, there is still a delivery note or order for an invoice.

Hints and tips

  • Click on the individual documents in the trail to go directly to the respective document and view details.
  • Use the document trail to identify open processes, e.g. if no order or invoice has been created for a quote or if there is still an order for an invoice.
  • The document trail also supports you in answering customer enquiries, as you can always provide information about the current status.
  • Make sure to always create follow-up documents directly from the original document so that the link in the document trail is displayed correctly.
