Installment billing

With the "Installment billing" function in AbaNinja, you can split an order into several partial payments (installments) and create a separate invoice for each installment. This is especially helpful if your customer wants to pay the total amount in several stages. The installment invoices are automatically generated from an existing order.

How installment billing works

  1. Order as a basis:
To create installment invoices, you need an existing order. Open the desired order.

  2. Create installment invoices:
Click on the three dots (⋯) in the upper right corner and select the action "Create installment invoices".

  3. Distribution of installments:
In the dialog that appears, you can choose between automatic and manual distribution.

    1. With automatic distribution, you specify the number of installments, the start date, and the payment terms. The system distributes the total amount evenly over the desired number of installments (e.g., monthly).

    2. With manual distribution, you can individually set the amounts and dates of each installment.

  4. Overview and adjustment:
You see a preview of all generated installment invoices including invoice date, due date, and amount. Check the details and click "Create" to create the installment invoices.

  5. Managing installment invoices:
After creation, you will find all installment invoices in the "Invoices" section of the order. Each installment receives its own invoice number and can be sent individually.

  6. Final invoice:
The last installment can be marked as a final invoice. In this, the partial amounts already invoiced in earlier installment invoices are automatically listed. Previously issued invoices are deducted, so only the remaining open amount is displayed.

Benefits

  • You offer your customers flexible payment options.
  • The overview is maintained as all installment invoices are directly linked to the corresponding order.
  • The accounting is automatically kept correct as each installment is treated as its own invoice.

Tips and hints

  • You can schedule the installment invoices to be sent via email directly.
  • The amounts and due dates can be individually adjusted as needed.
  • You can always see in the order which installments have already been invoiced and paid.

Tip:
Use the automatic split for a quick and error-free creation of even installments. For different payment wishes of your customer, use the manual split to individually design the amounts.
