QR Bill (QR Payment Slip)
In AbaNinja, you can automatically generate a QR-format (QR Bill) payment slip when creating customer invoices. The QR Bill is the official standard for payments in Switzerland and has replaced the old orange and red payment slips since 2020. The QR payment section contains all relevant payment information and can be easily scanned by your customers using a banking app or at the post office counter.
To create a QR Bill, you must enter a valid QR IBAN and, if required by your bank, a customer identification number in the stored bank account. You can make these settings under Finances > Banking. Once you select a bank account with a QR IBAN, the QR payment slip will automatically be created as part of the PDF document for each new invoice. You can also set whether the payment slip should appear with or without a background image, with or without an amount, and on a separate page in the settings.
Benefits
- Your customers can quickly and accurately pay invoices by scanning the QR code.
- The QR payment section contains all necessary payment information, preventing errors from manual entry.
- Payments can be automatically assigned to open invoices if properly set up, saving you a lot of time on bookkeeping.
- The QR Bill is standardized for all Swiss banks and payment providers and is accepted everywhere.
Notes and Tips
- Enter your QR IBAN directly in the existing bank account, not as a separate account. You can get your QR IBAN from your bank.
- The customer identification number is not required by all banks (e.g. PostFinance). Check this with your bank.
- For foreign currency accounts or if you do not have a QR IBAN, the QR Bill can be deactivated. In this case, the bank information will simply be displayed as text on the invoice.
- When importing an invoice with a payment slip, the payment data will be automatically recognized and taken over. However, always check whether the data has been correctly taken over so that the automatic assignment of payments works.
- The QR Bill can be used both when sending by email and when printing.
