Lock in booking period

In AbaNinja, you can specifically lock the booking period of a fiscal year. This means that after a date you define, no more bookings can be made for the closed period. You can find this setting under Settings > Accounting > Fiscal Year. In the "Bookings" section, you can use the "Allow bookings from (Paid)" field to determine from what date bookings can be made in the current fiscal year.

Benefits:
By locking the booking period, you ensure that no accidental or unauthorized bookings can be made after a certain period has been closed. This is especially important if you have already created a closing and do not want the numbers to be changed anymore. This way, your accounting remains audit-proof and traceable.

Notes and tips

  • You can set the lock directly in the respective fiscal year by entering the desired date in the "Allow bookings from" field. From this date, bookings for earlier periods will be locked.
  • The lock applies to all users in your account. This means that other users cannot make bookings in the locked period either.
  • If you still need to make bookings in the locked period later, you can adjust or remove the lock date at any time.
  • Please note that setting a lock date is a paid feature and requires a corresponding subscription.
  • If you set the date to 31.01.2024, no bookings can be made from this date for January 2024 or earlier. This way, you avoid making changes after the monthly closing.
  • The lock gives you maximum control over your accounting periods and protects against unintentional manipulation by different users.
