Employment relationships

In AbaNinja, the employment relationship forms the basis for accurate time tracking and employee management. Here, you can store all relevant information about an employee's employment relationship, such as the employment grade, weekly working hours, work schedule, number of vacation days, and the workplace. These details are essential for the automatic and correct calculation of the required working hours, vacation entitlement, and holidays.

Benefits

  • You can centrally and clearly record and manage the individual working conditions of each employee.
  • The recorded data serves as the basis for time tracking (clocking in/out, performance recording) and is used for evaluations such as actual vs. target comparisons, vacation balances, or holiday calculations.
  • Automatic consideration of legal and company requirements (e.g., vacation entitlement, work schedules, holidays depending on the canton).
  • Changes in the employment relationship (e.g., employment grade, work schedule) can be easily recorded from a desired date without losing previous data.

How to proceed

  1. Open the desired employee in the "Employees" section.
  2. Switch to the "Employment Relationship" tab.
  3. Click on "Create Employment Relationship".
  4. Enter all relevant data (validity, country/canton, employment grade, work schedule, weekly hours, vacation days, workdays, etc.).
  5. Save the employment relationship.

Tips and hints

  • You can record multiple employment relationships for an employee with different validity periods, for example, when there is a change in the work schedule or a change in the work schedule model. The system always considers the employment relationship that is valid at the time.
  • Make sure the canton is correctly specified, as this is relevant for automatic holiday calculation.
  • The work schedule models (e.g., standard, part-time, individual models) can be adjusted and expanded in the settings. Assign the appropriate model to each employee.
  • The recorded workdays determine which days the target time is calculated. Adjust these as needed, for example, for part-time employees.
  • You can view and edit the history of employment relationships for an employee at any time via the detailed view.
  • Changes to the employment relationship (e.g., work schedule, vacation entitlement) should always be recorded as a new employment relationship with the corresponding start date so that the history remains traceable and the time recording works correctly.
  • The recorded data is the basis for mobile time recording via AbaClik or the AbaClock clocking machine.
