Timekeeping closures

In the Closings section of the Time Tracking in AbaNinja, you can perform a closing of the recorded working hours, holidays, flexitime, and corrections for individual employees as of a certain date. This is especially useful for exits, year-end, or periodic evaluations.

To create a closing, select the Employees option in the Time Tracking menu and open the desired employee. Switch to the Closings tab. Here you will see an overview of all previous closings with the respective balances (holidays, holiday corrections, flexitime, time corrections) as of the respective date.

By clicking on the "Close Employees" button, a dialog box opens where you can set the closing date. After confirmation, a closing is created as of the selected date. The current balances are thus fixed and can be used for evaluations or payroll accounting.

Benefits

  • Closings fix the times and balances up to this date, so that later corrections or evaluations remain clearly traceable.
  • When an employee leaves, you can thus record all open time credits (e.g. holidays, overtime) as of the exit date.
  • Year-end closings enable a clean transfer of the remaining balances into the new year.
  • The overview of closings provides transparency about all previous cut-off dates.

Hints and tips

  • After a closing, the balances for the selected cut-off date are fixed. New entries or corrections only affect the next period.
  • If you have any questions or uncertainties, it is recommended to create an export of the current balances before the closing or to consult with your payroll accounting.
